Chères et chers collègues,
Nous vous rappelons que le prochain colloque bisannuel du Programme National « Physique et Chimie du Milieu Interstellaire » (PCMI) aura lieu à l’Ecole Normale Supérieure, du 24 au 28 octobre 2022.

Inscriptions et appel à contributions
Vous pouvez dès à présent vous inscrire et soumettre une proposition de contribution orale ou de poster. Cet appel à contributions sera ouvert du 11 avril au 9 mai 2022. Nous encourageons particulièrement les doctorants et post-doctorants, ainsi que les équipes ayant obtenu des financements PCMI à présenter leurs travaux, mais l'appel reste bien sûr ouvert à toute équipe travaillant sur les thèmes au cœur du programme. Une trentaine de contributions orales seront retenues, d’une durée de 20 minutes (15 minutes d’exposé + 5 minutes de questions). Deux sessions « poster » d’une heure trente chacune seront organisées, et les participantes et participants auront la possibilité de mettre en ligne une courte vidéo de présentation accompagnant leur poster. Les posters seront affichés pendant toute la durée de la conférence dans le Hall du Département de physique de l’ENS, où auront lieu les pauses café. Les exposés seront par ailleurs enregistrés et mis en ligne sur le site web de la conférence et via la chaîne YouTube du PCMI. Afin de permettre aux jeunes chercheurs étrangers présents dans nos laboratoires de profiter pleinement des exposés, ceux-ci pourront être en anglais, ou à tout le moins les présentations sur lesquelles ils s’appuient.
Ateliers thématiques
Quatre ateliers thématiques seront organisés, sur deux demi-journées au total, au cours de la conférence :
- Cosmic-rays and interstellar medium (SOC : P. Cristofari, A. Gusdorf, A. Marcowith)
- Accounting for the uncertainties, from the laboratory to the observations, through the model (SOC : F. Galliano, K. Demyk)
- PCMI in the JWST era: from fundamental data to observations (SOC : B. Tabone, E. Habart, E. Dartois, A. Faure, S. Cabrit)
- Foresight for the detection of new molecules in the interstellar medium (SOC : L. Margulès, J.-C. Guillemin)
Les contributions aux ateliers doivent être adressées directement aux SOC des ateliers, sans passer par le processus de soumission de la conférence. Il est cependant nécessaire de procéder à l’inscription à la conférence par le site web.
Frais d’inscription pour participation aux frais d’organisation
- Permanent : 300€ TTC
- Non-permanent : 200€ TTC
- Participation en mode distanciel : 100€ TTC
Après un colloque PCMI 2020 entièrement en ligne en raison de la situation sanitaire, une participation « en présentiel » est fortement encouragée, afin de favoriser les échanges entre équipes et d’initier de nouvelles collaborations. Conscients cependant des difficultés que ce format est susceptible d’engendrer pour plusieurs membres de la communauté PCMI, une participation en mode « distanciel » est néanmoins proposée, à un tarif réduit.
Note : Le système de paiement des frais d’inscription n’est pas encore opérationnel. Nous vous informerons de sa mise en place dès que possible, pour permettre aux participants de finaliser leur inscription.
Événements
Un dîner de conférence est prévu le mercredi 26 octobre au soir. Un « social event » est également en cours d’organisation. La participation à ces évènements est incluse dans les frais d’inscriptions pour les participants à la conférence. Les personnes les accompagnant pourront en bénéficier également, moyennant une contribution financière à déterminer.

We would like to remind you that the next biennial conference of the National Programme "Physics and Chemistry of the Interstellar Medium" (PCMI) will take place at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, from 24 to 28 October 2022.

Registration and call for papers
You can now register and submit a proposal for an oral contribution or a poster. This call for papers will be open from 11 April to 9 May 2022. We particularly encourage PhD and post-doctoral students, as well as teams that have obtained PCMI funding to present their work, but the call is of course open to any team working on the themes at the heart of the programme. Around thirty oral contributions will be selected, lasting 20 minutes (15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes questions). Two one-and-a-half hour poster sessions will be organised, and participants will have the opportunity to upload a short video presentation of their poster. The posters will be displayed for the duration of the conference in the Hall of the ENS Physics Department, where coffee breaks will be held. The presentations will also be recorded and posted on the conference website and on the PCMI YouTube channel. In order to allow young foreign researchers in our laboratories to take full advantage of the presentations, these may be in English, or at least the presentations on which they are based.
Thematic workshops
Four thematic workshops will be organised, over two half-days in total, during the conference:

Contributions to the workshops should be addressed directly to the workshop SOCs, without going through the conference submission process. It is however necessary to register for the conference through the website.
Registration fee for participation to the organisation costs
- Permanent: 300€ TTC
- Non-permanent: 200€ TTC
- Participation in remote mode: 100€ TTC
After a PCMI 2020 conference entirely online due to the health situation, "face-to-face" participation is strongly encouraged, in order to promote exchanges between teams and initiate new collaborations. However, as we are aware of the difficulties that this format is likely to cause for several members of the PCMI community, participation in "remote" mode is nevertheless proposed, at a reduced rate.
Note: The registration fee payment system is not yet operational. We will inform you of its implementation as soon as possible, to allow participants to finalise their registration.
Events
A conference dinner is planned for the evening of Wednesday 26 October. A social event is also being organised. Participation in these events is included in the registration fee for conference participants. Accompanying persons will also be able to benefit from them, for a fee to be determined.
